2020 BATTERIEBERG RESERVE Riesling Enkirch, 12%
99 Punkte Stuart Pigott auf Jamessuckling.com:
12 Nov, 2022 – A truly extraordinary wine that smashes the Mosel mould! Incredibly deep nose of apricots, candied lemon and licorice. Enormously concentrated and structured, this has a Burgundian mouth-feel. Great minerality and stacks of fine tannins power the very long, complete finish. Low acidity in the Mosel context, but it works brilliantly. Matured for two full years on the gross lees in cask. Very limited production. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
96 Punkte auf Robertparker.com:
Bottled on the same day as the 2021 grand crus (early September this year), the 2020 Batterieberg Reserve offers a deep, clear and precisely defined bouquet of finely crushed slate and elegant Riesling fruit. Sourced from the two driest terraces that crop no more than 20 hectoliters per hectare, this is a generous but refined, saline and elegant dry Batterieberg Riesling that is doubtlessly rich but also refined and stimulatingly fresh on the elegant finish. It is long and crisp but also calm and with the density and structure of a great wine. Tasted in October 2022. 2022-2042.
95 Punkte Mosel-Fine-Wines:
The 2020er Batterieberg Réserve, as it is referred to on the main part of the label, is a bone-dry wine (with 3 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit picked on 100-year-old un-grafted vines which was fermented and aged in used barrique and small oak cask for 24 months. It offers a stunningly pure and playful nose made of fresh herbs, fine spices, juicy pear, ginger, floral elements, and smoky. The wine is gorgeously playful on the drytasting palate and leaves a superbly multi-layered feel in the long and lingering finish. The aftertaste is full of subtly fruity and nicely herbal and spicy elements. What a stunning piece of dry Riesling in the making! 2025-2035.

Lageninfos vom Weingut
